For many of us lockdown has seen many challenges - some have been enjoyable, others challenging.
For Emma, our Sales Manager, she has used her spare time to contribute to her local NHS GP practise's and care homes by joining friends in her local village to make sets of Scrubs for their doctors, nurses and carers out of duvet covers.
With a keen sewing interest and a hidden talent Springvale was unaware of, it was great to hear of this venture, so we thought we would share it with you.
Protecting our keyworkers by wearing these fun scrubs prevents cross contamination with home wear. Supplied with wash bags, each keyworker gets 2 sets.
She mentions "It's been a huge privilege making these scrubs, I've loved getting the sewing machine going for a good cause, it is the least I can do. Some of the patterns have been very funny as you can imagine with some old children's duvets being used up. Some have been plain crazy, others fun, attractive, sporty - a wide variety have been made!. The feedback from our Doctors has been fantastic, they love them! So much so, admin staff are wanting in on the action too!!"
Together the village of sewers has supplied scrubs over the last 8 weeks to the 3 main GP practises in the town, the local community hospital, a large care home for the elderly and a few have even reached into the district hospital. The team is growing, thankfully, as with word spreading - of these fun scrubs, more requests are coming in.
Looks like Emma will be busy for a few more weeks yet!
