Langen are now an established supplier of cartoning machinery for shaped cartons, cartons with very damageable finishes, heavy weight carton board or special cartoning opening systems. Often all of these challenges can be present, as demonstrated by a recent project for United Biscuits innovative Victoria assortment cartons.

The requirement for unusual shaped cartons, and more innovative opening systems seems to be growing rapidly. Langen have recently built systems for curved sided cartons, gable top and flip top cartons as well as tamper evident closing, being of particular interest to the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.

Langen have delivered over 20 machines for packing spirit bottles into gift cartons & tubes. These applications always throw up challenges as cartons usually have a combination of heavy carton board, easily damaged surface treatments and often include unusual carton closing methods such as collarettes around the neck of the bottle or special interlocking folded bases. Machines are supplied to run at up to 360 bottles/cartons/min while ensuring no damage to the cartons surface or indeed the labels of the spirit bottles.
